Full Steam Ahead!! For the November Rich Penn Auction

THE NOVEMBER 5 & 6 AUCTION will be held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, IA and will kick off with a full head of steam!! Steam toys that is!! But there’s a lot more than steam toys! There are over 1,000 lots and as with all Rich Penn Auctions, there will also be a great offering of Country Store items, Advertising, Barbershop, Coin-operated machines and much more!

It all does starts with Steam! Among the selection of superb collector items will be the entire toy steam engine collection of the late Carl Swanstrom of Naperville, IL. Carl….who passed in 2008 was well known throughout antique toy circles. He had amassed a huge collection of steam toys and related pieces.

The steam engine collection includes all the top names: Weeden, Marklin, Jensen, Bing and others. But Hot air engines are well represented too. Names like….Rebi, Empire and Paradox. Dozens of related pieces that were steam driven accompany the power plants. German machine shops, Industrial tools, toys, water falls and snow slides, even fountains. These toys were the latest high tech for the early 20th century.
