FAIRFIELD, ME – June 21, 2013. After a stellar 2012 auction season that grossed approximately $45 Million, James D. Julia auctioneers is already on their way to an equally strong 2013. In late January, they conducted their winter fine art & Asian antique auction that yielded $4 Million over a 3-day period. In March, they conducted their winter firearms auction that garnered a jaw-dropping $13.5 Million (this in only two days and 850 lots).
They are now preparing for their summer season and kicking things off with two back-to-back auctions with their toy, doll & advertising division and their fine glass & lamp division. The latter of the two starts the event on June 19 & 20 with a two-day sale featuring numerous exquisite Tiffany lamps, French cameo glass, fine art glass, and more. As longtime department head prepares to retire, he and the Julia team are preparing his replacement, Chris McKenzie to take over the reins. Chris is a recent Julia hire whose business background and affable nature is proving to be a great fit with what company president Jim Julia frequently and proudly refers to as the best auction team in North America.
