A Christmas Letter from 1912

1114-santaDO YOU REMEMBER Punkin Head? Eaton’s Beauty Dolls? The T. Eaton & Co. at 190 Yonge St. TORONTO Canada? Santa Claus Parades? Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus? What a nostalgic
time for Santa.!

While going through some old post cards of my aunts, we came across 2 envelopes each containing a very special letter. Ama and Madeline were sisters and they had each received a letter from Santa Claus! What an exciting find!!

The envelope has a King George stamp on it which is dated Toronto, Dec. 1912. There are so many graphics on this envelope, front and back, that there is barely room for the address. No need for a postal code. It’s just addressed to: Miss Amabelle Reid, 56 Beaconville Ave., City.

Inside there is a wonderful letter addressed to “My dear little friend” and signed, “Your old friend Santa Claus” What magic!
