ABOUT FIFTY YEARS AGO toys like this one appeared in all our toy shops. They were brand new – in actuality, as well as toys fit for sailing in the pool.
That was B.C. (before computers), of course, when toys were still being designed and produced.
One like this 38″ long Passenger Liner would almost certainly have been offered at F. A. 0. Schwartz here in New York City. I found this one in Europe – Rome, specifically – and carried it around under my arm throughout the trip.
It made for a good number of fast conversations, but as a way to meet girls, it was a complete bust.
