IS THAT OLD SHOW really worth saving? That is the question I was asked when I first came on as co-producer of The Glendale All American Toy and Advertising Show.
The answer became clear August 16th and 17th when almost 900 collectors and dealers enthusiastically participated giving life to an event many had given up on. The show had energy and excitement not seen there in over a decade. As it turns out collectors and dealers alike share the same memories of this iconic event and want it to live on.
Collectors remain interested in seeing, touching, and bargaining with dealers face to face and appreciated a chance to see top collectibles brought from around the country, up close and not on a computer screen. Many attendees loved the new Friday dealer preview from 11-6. Dealers enjoyed the option of returning home Sunday or attending the Long Beach antique market as the show has now become a Friday, Saturday event.
Thanks to all dealers and attendees who helped to revitalize this long running and beloved show. We knew you loved this show as much as we did.
See you again next January 17th and 18th, 2014.
