Collectors from all over are revving up their motors and grabbing airline tickets to attend the Chicago Toy Show on October 23 at Kane County Fairgrounds in St. Charles IL. This international show is the largest antique-collectible toy and doll show of its kind, attracting thousands of enthusiasts who would not be anywhere else when the show begins. Complete information is on the website at

The show fills the Prairie Events Center East and West, Robinson Hall, Trades, and Rabbit with a total of 600 exhibitors displaying childhood and holiday memorabilia, all in enclosed buildings. Enthusiasts know that treasures they have been searching for could turn up anywhere as they hunt through the booths for a glimpse of elusive pieces.

The displays contain toys and dolls from the early 1900’s to contemporary selections as well as vintage Halloween and Christmas items. Collectors find anything and everything that children would have enjoyed through the ages. Prices are reasonable, the quality is superb, and the selection is great at this huge show that often presents items never seen before.

Toys are a marvelous, profitable, and enjoyable investment, and become even more of a pleasure because of friendships made at this show. Folks get together to share ideas and knowledge along with fascinating toy stories and interesting toy histories. They bring rarities to entice each other, and bargain constantly with “two of these for one of those” as collections build. Great friendships develop as everyone looks forward to visiting at the show with others who share their interest in toys.
