IF YOU’VE LEFT YOUR BED and board anytime within the last two decades, you have undoubtedly come to know Murphy’s Law. It’s universal. It looms large, needless to say, in all our lives. Worse, it’s inevitable. Simply put, it states:
“If anything can possibly go wrong, it will.”
You knew it all along, didn’t you? And you can guess the thrust of this article by now, can’t you? Murphy’s Law, as it applies to our beloved antique toy field, is virtually teaming with examples. In fact, so many of these perverse instances have happened to you and me, one wonders just what ole’ Murph has up his raveled sleeve to do to us next.
Toward that end, I’ve surveyed thousands of collectors (well, three) and after the giggles and indignation have calmed down, these selected outrages seem to be the most prevalent.
