Taxis

THERE WAS A TIME WHEN, unlike the current crop, Taxis were especially designed and built. They were taller, roomier, and sometimes even convertible.

Toys, as always, followed suit. We have an ineresting collection of Taxis here for you today, with examples of eleven of them as they progressed from the vaulted Twenties through to World War II.

We begin around the turn of the Century, about 1910, when Taxis were tall, without headlamps or bumpers, and looked somewhat like this.
