Hoge Manufacturing Model #266 Fire Chief Car, 1932-34

No firefighting scene is complete without the presence of the Chief. Hoge (pronounced “hoagie” like the sandwich) was founded in Manhattan, NYC by Hampden Hoge in 1909 to produce office supplies. He left the company that bore his name in 1919 and his successors subsequently introduced a line of well received,, mid priced metal pens and pencils in 1922. In 1931 established toy producer Henry Katz dissolved his toy business and came to Hoge to supervise a new toy division.
