THIS INFORMATION WAS gleaned from Top Secret Files only recently unsealed by the Department of Defense. During the tension filled days prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor, plans were made by the top echelons of military brass for the defense of the United States. Germany was meeting little resistance in their attacks on small European countries and Japan was ravaging thru Manchuria and China. The USA was thought to be the next prey of the axis powers. One scenario studied was a pincer movement coordinating the forces of Japan and Germany through the Polar Areas, down through Canada, striking the undefended Midwestern States. All of the traditional armament factories were already going full blast to provide arms and ammunition for our allies so Tootsietoy was called upon to build up a large force of men and equipment to provide a defensive perimeter for Chicago.
