Marklin made some toys at special request like this luxurious tin bathroom which was found in a cabinet behind the reception desk of a hotel in Aachen (Germany), built in the 1920s. The hotel was renovated in 1999 and fortunately the supervisor for the renovation, who found it, took it home. After 20 years on display at home, he decided to sell it to a tin toy collector from whom I bought it recently. Not sure who made it but having all the details of early Marklin paintwork and looking for a trademark, I removed the added wooden base, which had attached handles to carry it. With a size of 70x30x40 cm it was extremely heavy. Underneath the bathroom I found a sink water basin. There was a screwed lid on top of the roof, allowing the roof space to be filled with water and so enabling the shower, bath and toilet to work! By further research I discovered the Marklin trademark underneath the bath and only visible with a mirror.
