Stanton’s Huge Music Machine Auction Held in Michigan

THE 3-DAY AUCTION was held in Charlotte, Michigan on November 16, 17, and 18th selling nearly 1,486 lots of antique automatic music machines and related items of all types. Stanton’s Specialized Auctions of this type take place each spring and fall, in addition to their schedule of nearly 175 other auctions held annually. The auction brought in onsite participants from 21 states, 4 Canadian Provinces, as well as active online and phone bidding from across North America, Europe, New Zealand, and the world.

The collections sold came from various Estates, private collectors and Museums across the United States and Canada. Owner Steve Stanton mentioned that their travels in acquiring the collections had found them on the east and west coast, as well as the southwest and southeast parts of the United States, in addition to their central and Midwest travel and pickup schedules. It was estimated that over 26,000 miles had been logged in acquiring the collections, and preparing the near 1,500 lots for the auction through cataloging, photography, and advertising work during the five months prior to the auction.
