AUTO TRANSPORTS(a.k.a. car carriers) can be great additions to a toy truck collection. After all, they actually consist of multiple toys, a truck and trailer plus the load vehicles. However, the trans ports can also possibly pose mul tiple problem issues in addition to condition. The cab and trailer must be a correct pairing. The correct loading ramps need to be included. And, the proper load vehicles have to be present in at least the correct number. (Note that collectors often add more vehicles to fill vacancies on the trailer when the makers had cheapened out usually by provid ing only two or three.)
Marx (i.e. Lumar) previously issued an auto transport having the identical trailer and two-car load consisting of two the same cars. The colors of the cars may be orange and white or blue and white. The cab on that rig was of generic design instead of the more preferred Studebaker cab used on the pictured rig. In addition to being a realistic rendition, the paint on this example is perfect. The original luster on the polished tin hubcaps has not lessened. And, the inclusion of the spare tire and wheel plus the litho graphed tin saddle tanks behind the cap are nice details.
