Lloyd Ralston Presents History of Lego

The history of LEGO begins in Denmark in the early 20th century and grows into one of the most influential toy brands in the world.

The company behind it, LEGO Group, was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen in Billund. It started as a small workshop making wooden toys, including cars, animals, and pull toys. The name “LEGO” comes from the Danish phrase “leg godt,” meaning “play well.”

Today, LEGO remains a global cultural icon, known for creativity, engineering play, and its enduring “brick system” that still connects generations of builders.
