Markets Missed Vintage Toys

Toy manufacturers usually design toys to attract would be owners or certain buyers. The toys may be specifically intended for an age range and or gender. Probable older buyers may be concerned with issues such as safety, durability, or the potential for the loss of component parts or accessories. Presented herein are three toy sets that seemed to have sold very poorly because they missed their intended markets. All three sets are quite scarce with complete and correct boxed examples even more so. Kahn –Auto Trailer and Streamlined Car circa 1950.

The set was issued by Kahn, a Chicago company of minimal renown. And, the maker identification is not found on any of the included items but is fortunately found on the original box. The plastic car is of generic design but possibly intended to resemble a Cadillac. It measures 9 inches and curiously has outmoded suicide rear doors. Hitching up the included fenced trailer, extends the overall length to 14.7 inches. The trailer load consists of 11 pieces of dollhouse furniture all of lesser scale when compared to the car. That furniture consists of: sofa, arm chair, cocktail table,television, bed, kitchen sink, kitchen table with two chairs, toilet, and bathroom sink.
