Maxwell House Coffee-Can Truck

FOR MANY YEARS John West was both a significant contributor to Antique Toy World magazine and a highly respected toy collector. His contribution to the November 1990 issue was a narrative concerning “METALCRAFT’S COFFEE-CAN TRUCK.” Therein John stated: “Well, in 1932, The late Alfred C. Korte, a designer who worked for Metalcraft invented a truck chassis to accommodate just such a coffee can. Metalcraft was granted patent rights to this truck in 1934.” Towards the end of\ his narrative John stated: “I have never seen the toy truck, and have no proof that it even went into production, but the Coffee-can truck would have made an attractive advertising piece.”
