Model Stock Farm
By Steve Butler
ON 08/11/1933 DONALD M. WARREN filed for a U.S. patent based on the construction of a toy “Playhouse” made of cardboard and assembled using tabs that “lock into triangular cutouts.” That was one of five related patents that he would receive prior to the production of the Model Stock Farm in 1939 by his company Warren Paper and under the trade name Built-Rite.
Included with the Model Stock Farm set are several pieces of literature in which the
following statement appears twice: “The buildings of this Model Stock Farm have been adapted from plans of the Midwest Farm Building Plan Service and Purdue University.”
