Focal Point: Ford Panel Truck, Marx, circa 1952

Having owned the real thing, there is no doubt that the toy panel truck is a rendition of a 1/2 ton 1951-52 Ford. However, there are several design details that are not quite correct. First there are the nine running lights on the roof that would have been aftermarket additions on the full size counterparts.

Then there are the details that are raised as opposed to being cut out on the hood at the front and sides and the semi-skirted real wheels. The grill and headlights features are also modified possibly to better facilitate casting. Plus, the rear windows are not cut out.
