The pictured racer appeared in the April 1974 issue of Antique Toy World in an article by Clint B. Seely. A number of pictures of unusual toys accompanied that article which concerned Seely’s acquisition in 1972 of 33 Tootsietoy prototypes.
(Seely reported that there were originally over 100 but a grandson had gotten into the treasure trove when visiting.)

Prototypes were reportedly all from the estate of Frank Bischot Jr., Tootsietoy’s “principal designer.” As such, all toys including this racer are/were unique …..the only examples known.
