Some of the most beautiful tin toys ever made were actually produced in Spain during the period from 1890 to 1936. In particular, certain Spanish toys made prior to World War One (i.e., prior to 1914) were made with such detail as to rival the best toy manufacturers across the world at that time, including even Maerklin of Germany.
In particular, the Hispania toy company, which was founded in 1890 by E. Roca Farriols, produced some of the most detailed and impressive toys. Unfortunately, due to their significant cost, short production runs and limited global commercialization, these toys have remained largely undocumented in the toy-collecting field.
