William “Bill” Gallagher is widely recognized among antique toy enthusiasts as one of the most respected collectors in the hobby. His journey began in childhood with classic toys such as cap guns, fire engines, and wind-up toys, but his passion truly reignited in the late 1960s after receiving an N-gauge toy train set for Christmas.
Over the years, Gallagher and his wife built an impressive collection of more than 2,500 toys, with a strong focus on mid-20th-century Japanese tin toys and vintage collectibles. Their dedication to preserving toy history and attending toy shows helped establish Gallagher as a legendary figure within the antique toy collecting community.
